MY APPROACH
Therapy can be a transformative and deeply rewarding experience, though at times a challenging one. There are many reasons for seeking therapy. You might be struggling with something specific like a relationship, a difficult decision or the after-effects of a traumatic event, or maybe you have a more general sense of not feeling satisfied even though outwardly things seem to be going quite well.
I believe that whatever the difficulties we experience in life, in order to move forward and grow we have to look deeper into ourselves. I offer a safe and confidential space in which your innermost feelings and experiences can be shared and we can work together to make sense of the issues you bring. I believe that difficulties from our past can impact our relationships with others in the present, including our relationship with ourselves. I can work with you to make links and understand the patterns which may be repeated in your life and, in doing so, develop meaningful self-awareness, new ways of relating and the capacity to live a more fulfilling life.
I take an exploratory, unstructured approach to my work and I encourage you to bring whatever feels most important to you to sessions so that we can think together about what might be happening at both a conscious and unconscious level. I believe that therapy is about becoming who you really are and therefore I will support you to take the lead in sessions intuitively, allowing your authentic self to emerge.
